Q: Is pension credit/ working families tax credit a "passport" benefit?
A: Working Families Tax Credit was no longer a passport benefit with effect from 7 April 2003. Pension Credit is now a passport benefit- effective from 1st October 2003
Q: What age do you have to be to seek green form advice in your own right?
A: A client is eligible when they are 16 years of age
Q: Can you work out my client`s contribution for me or say whether he/ she is eligible?
A: No.

Point 1 on the KEYCARD states-
1. Under the Legal Advice and Assistance Regulations (NI) 1981 the responsibility for determining Disposable Capital and Disposable Income and accordingly financial eligibility is placed squarely upon the solicitor.
Q: What are the current fees payable for work done under the "green form scheme"?
A: The rates, in effect since 06/04/92, are:

£43.25 an hour for preparation and attendances

£54.50 an hour advocacy

£24.25 an hour waiting and travelling time

£ 3.35 for all letters (other than acknowledgments or fixing appointments) and for telephone calls (in and out)

£19.75 per telephone call, advising and assisting over the telephone under PACE

35.7 pence per mile for travelling expenses by car

A one third uplift is payable for unsociable hours on travel, waiting and attendance times.
